Desktop Technician - Temporary
Job description
Dexian has two immediate opportunities available for Desktop Technicians to provide Level II support for various services as a member of the desktop support / break-fix team for our premier aerospace customer. The Desktop Technician shall:
- Be responsible for providing maintenance of computing devices, associated peripherals, and approved software, and shall install and maintain hardware and software on those devices and associated peripherals.
- Install all upgrades (memory, hard drives, etc.) and peripheral devices.
- Provide the appropriate office support to coordinate and schedule new equipment installations.
- Monitor and update ServiceNow to ensure that all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met and make updates to ServiceNow asset records.
- Assist in coordinating, scheduling, and performing relocations and re-installations of equipment.
- Perform periodic physical audits of end user computing devices to compare with ServiceNow's records (deployment location, storage location, and assignee information).
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Three (3)+ years' experience in an IT support role, preferably as a Desktop (Desk Side) or Help Desk technician
- Intermediate knowledge in supporting enterprise level PC's
- Intermediate understanding of installing/supporting/ troubleshooting Windows devices, MS Office, network connectivity issues, etc., and perform system (re)imaging using LANDesk or other imaging technologies
- Intermediate understanding of data transfers using USMT
- Good verbal and written communication skills with a high focus on customer service
- Ability to provide solutions to user problems to ensure user satisfaction and productivity
- Ability to plan and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines/SLA's in a fast-paced environment without supervision
This position requires an active Department of Defense security clearance at the SECRET level upon hire or ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance. U.S. citizens ONLY are eligible for a security clearance and this position. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma.
- IAT Level I certification desired.
LOCATION and DURATION:
- This is a full-time (temporary) onsite position at a facility in Crystal City (Arlington, VA) anticipated to immediately and end on or about 6 June 2025.
COMPENSATION:
- Dexian reasonably expects to offer $29.46 - $34.66/hour for this position based on skills and experience. Benefits include generous time off, health, vision and dental insurance, matching 401k, etc.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Submit/Pass a 10-year background check, criminal history, drug screening, and fingerprints
- Valid driver's license/Real-ID with clean driver's history
- Applicant must have a strong work ethic, be extremely organized and detail-oriented, be a self-starter with excellent time-management, problem solving, and multitasking skills
- Excellent face-to-face customer service skills - at lest 1 year experience in a customer service position, such as: call center, retail, or other customer facing role
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with ability to research, resolve and complete tasks within pre-determined deadlines and schedules
- Able to process work quickly and accurately in spite of interruptions, changing timelines and priorities, on a regular basis
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word programs
- Working knowledge of app/database ticketing systems. Knowledge with ServiceNow, a plus
- Position may require dexterity and ability to sit, stand, walk extended distances
