Purpose:

Within the Rotating engineering group, provides discipline leadership by directing project execution activities and discipline deliverables for projects. Performs administrative functions including implementation of management policies and procedures, implements the Company and Customers Procedures while seeking improvements to work processes and business approaches to better serve the project needs, supervision of low/moderate sized teams. Develops innovative technical solutions to complex problems. Mentor subordinates. Responsibilities:



  • The candidate will work within a team framework of other disciplines and will have an understanding of the broad organizational implications of the work being performed.
  • Will be updating schedules and progress reports.
  • May be asked to generate budgets for new work.
  • Will be interfacing with Project Management and the Customers regularly.
  • Will be required to develop/check specifications, data sheets, technical bids, purchase orders, resolve technical queries from vendors on various Compressor and Pump equipment, able to coordinate project requirements with other disciplines, project staff and clients.
  • Will be required to maintain quality deliverables throughout the procurement of the equipment.
  • Will be required to support work share activities with overseas offices on Rotating Equipment deliverables.
  • Will be required to develop/support hour estimation, TIC estimates, deliverable requirements and personnel loading for the Rotating Engineering scope of the project.
  • Able to support or fill in for the Mechanical lead as requested.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • Thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted office procedures.
  • Typically, minimum of 8 years of Rotating (Compressor and Pump) Engineering experience in Petroleum-Chemical Industry.
  • 5 years in other Mechanical equipment or packaged equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Emphasis on reciprocating compressor experience, with working knowledge of API 617, 614, 670 and 671.


Additional Information:



  • Knowledge of API, ANSI, NEMA, ASTM specifications.
  • May be required to travel to the Vendors facilities.


Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:



  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.


Preferred:



  • Relevant professional registration preferred.


Additional Information:



  • This position is in California.
  • Salary Range $142,508-$209,571
  • Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.
