Summary: The ideal Cloud/IP Engineer will have a strong background in IP Networking within LTE/5G/Private Networks Technology, extensive experience managing cloud operations on Microsoft Azure, and deep expertise in VMware virtualization technologies. This role requires hands-on expertise in designing and managing Azure environments, including S2S VPN creation, Azure Virtual WAN, and Azure Hub configurations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Design, implement, and manage Site-to-Site (S2S) VPN connections between on-premises infrastructure and Azure Cloud environments.
• Configure and maintain Azure Virtual WAN for scalable and secure network connectivity across multiple locations.
• Manage and optimize Azure Virtual Networks (VNets) , subnets, and routing tables for high availability and performance.
• Implement and troubleshoot Azure Hub and Spoke architectures to ensure efficient traffic flow and centralized security policies.
• Monitor and enhance Azure Firewall configurations, ensuring compliance with organizational security standards.
• Deploy and manage Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) and other PaaS services, ensuring seamless integration with on-premises systems.
• Automate routine tasks using tools like PowerShell , Azure CLI , or Terraform to improve operational efficiency.
• Design and manage robust IP Networking solutions with a focus on LTE/5G/Private Networks technology and protocols.
• Configure and maintain firewalls , with experience in SonicWall firewalls being a plus.
• Troubleshoot complex networking issues, including routing, switching, and security policies.
• Ensure network security and compliance by implementing best practices for firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption protocols.
• Administer and troubleshoot VMware vSphere environments , including ESXi hosts , vCenter Server, and vMotion for workload mobility.
• Manage VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) and High Availability (HA) clusters to ensure optimal resource utilization and fault tolerance.
• Perform VMware VM migrations (cold, live, and storage vMotion) to balance workloads and improve performance.
• Configure and maintain VMware NSX for software-defined networking (SDN) and micro-segmentation.
• Monitor and optimize VMware Horizon environments for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployments.
• Implement and manage VMware backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam or native VMware tools.Experience working on Macro integrations on Verizon systems is must
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and support hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architecture, cloud deployments, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical leadership in diagnosing and resolving complex network, cloud, and virtualization-related issues.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in networking, cloud technologies, and industry best practices.
• Additional certifications in VMware (e.g., VCP-DCV, VCIX, or VCDX).
• Experience with SonicWall firewalls or similar enterprise-grade firewall solutions.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerShell , Python , or Terraform for cloud and network management.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical projects

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or QUALIFICATIONS

• BS/MS in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical degree; or 7 years of equivalent work experience is required.
• A valid CCIE (Routing and Switching) certification is mandatory, and additional certifications in VMware will be considered a significant advantage.
