Registrar, Clinic

Job Overview:

Greeting patients and assisting with appointments, registration and providing excellent phone etiquette

Qualifications:

Required:

• 1 2 years in customer service or Physician Office environment
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Good typing and computer skills
• Must be able to work with the public and maintain poise under difficult, confronting situations
• High School diploma or equivalent

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift-7:00-3:30 (hours may vary)
• Monday-Friday
• Full Time/Day

Essential Functions:

• Appointment Process/Patient Registration
• Clinic Eligibility/Managed Care (if applicable)
• Interacting with residents and providers
• Pick up phone by third Ring, Courtesy, do not leave anyone on hold longer than one minute, Accessing Voice Mail, Voice Mail follow -up, Messaging Taking
• Appointment Process, Referrals,VAC, workshops, Sending No Show Letters.
• Billing Process/Charge Entry to be input within 48 hours.
• Computer Order Entry
• Computer Laboratory Retrieval
• Collection of co-payment, payments: Agility on each visit
• Demonstrates communication skills appropriate to ages when registering patients.
• Specific safety issues, i.e. ,need for wheelchair or medical assistance
• Informing patients of Patient Rights and Responsibilities
• Obtaining information about Advance Directive from patient
• Twice daily check on waiting room to make certain all patients are taken care of
• Obtains correct spelling and identification of patient.
