Junior Business Analyst needed for a contract to possible hire opportunity with SOC's client to work on-site in Washington, DC.
*A Public Trust is required for the role Key Responsibilities: * Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases. * Perform basic database administration tasks such as backup, recovery, and performance monitoring. * Support database tuning, ensuring that systems are running efficiently and can handle increasing data loads. * Monitor database health and troubleshoot performance issues as they arise. * Use AZ Copy to efficiently transfer large volumes of data between on-premises systems and Azure cloud storage. * Assist in the development and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards for business intelligence and data analytics. * Help ensure the accuracy and consistency of data in Power BI visualizations. * Assist with routine database maintenance tasks, including database backups, indexing, and data integrity checks. * Perform regular system updates and patches to keep the database systems secure and up-to-date. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database performance and connectivity. * Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of database systems, processes, and configurations. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or relevant work experience. * 0-2 years of experience in database administration or IT support roles, ideally with exposure to SQL Server, AZ Copy, and Power BI. * Basic knowledge of SQL Server installation, configuration, and administration. * Experience using AZ Copy for managing data transfer between on-prem and Azure environments. * Familiarity with Power BI for report generation and data visualization. * Basic understanding of database performance tuning, backups, and recovery procedures. * Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic database issues, with guidance from senior team members. * Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members. * A team player who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. Desirable Skills: * Familiarity with Azure cloud services, particularly in relation to database management. * Knowledge of SQL scripting for querying and managing databases. * Experience with Data Warehousing concepts and tools is a plus. * Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server or Azure technologies are a bonus.
