The Payer Service Delivery (PSD) , part of the Optum Advisory that provides Technology and Health Management services to payer clients, is seeking a Delivery Management Office (DMO) leader who will be the portfolio owner in charge of driving the work within PSD, maintaining the DMO processes, and financial oversight. The DMO owner is the point of contact for internal project, Change Request, and Enhancement prioritization and execution as well as the project/program management for new client and line of business onboarding.

The DMO leader is accountable for driving work across the PSD organization and in support of our clients while maintaining the organizations financials. You will engage the matrixed teams in support of account objectives for efficient, quality, growth and client satisfaction. This includes engaging with the clinical, operations, technology teams, client, and vendors as well as other groups at the Optum level required to deliver our strategic objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Build, nurture and grow, consultative relationships with key partners within the PSD organization, other Optum teams, clients, and vendors to define and drive the requested changes, enhancements, projects, and client/LOB onboarding
  • Lead team members across the matrixed environment to develop approaches and processes that lead to that increase the value we provide and increase the impact Optum has on the client's business
  • Ensure service and delivery commitments to client are met
  • Coordinate and influence delivery to enable effective operations for our clients and vendor teams related to PSD solutions. Work with the PSD, Internal, Vendor, and client teams to drive resolution to performance opportunities and issues
  • Develop and present reporting of savings achievements, opportunities, and service level agreements
  • Drive outcomes with internal matrix business stakeholders across Optum to ensure customer centricity, high NPS scores, delivery against client needs and expectations, profitable growth, and representation for the voice of the customer in our current and future products
  • Deliver exceptional customer Net Promotor Score (NPS) results

Required Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience in program delivery, portfolio management, and leadership
  • 8+ years of experience working with stakeholder and business leaders to drive outcomes
  • Experience in driving deep, productive relationships with external clients and vendors
  • Demonstrated success building and evolving relationships with internal leadership and matrixed stakeholder teams
  • History of leading, influencing and managing indirect, matrixed teams with successful people and team leadership experience - motivating, mentoring, and developing talent
  • High level understanding of payer's health management operations (Condition Management, Case Management, Utilization Management)
  • Proven track record of success driving client success across highly complex and matrixed organizations
  • Proven ability to define, maintain, and drive matrixed change request, enhancement, and project management processes
  • Demonstrated track record of active collaboration, engagement, and oversight of portfolio management

The salary range for this role is $150,200 to $288,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
