Position Summary:

The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) will be responsible for providing product access and reimbursement education to assigned accounts focusing on Meitheal's Oncology biosimilars and potentially other therapeutic areas. The FRM will engage with healthcare providers (HCPs) and/or office personnel to review medical policies, prior authorization requirements, coding and billing guidance, directions for product access via wholesalers/distributors and/or specialty pharmacies. The FRM will also support providers with appropriate case-specific guidance regarding prior authorization requirements and/or claim denials.

Pay range for this position is $165,000 - $195,000. Payrate is determined by considering a person's prior experience and competence.

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Collaborate and Communicate

  • Collaborate with other field reimbursement managers to identify the best practices seen in different practice settings across the country.
  • Quickly identify, communicate, and address outstanding reimbursement issues and trends, escalating to FRM leadership, Sales, Market Access, Marketing and others to help inform additional support and resource needs.
  • Proactively communicate with the Market Access account team to gain a complete understanding of payer-specific coverage, medical and pharmacy policies, and utilization management criteria (i.e. Step Therapy, PA, etc.).
  • Regularly interact with field matrix teams to identify, assess and address issues in assigned geography.
  • Inform and support internal teams on the development of reimbursement related resources and tools for use by customers.

Customer Engagement and Support

  • Use approved tools, such as dashboards and coding guides to assist an office with a smooth and efficient patient journey to therapy access.
  • Assist in building, tracking, and reporting on key performance indicators to monitor overall performance.
  • Complete territory business activity reports as required.
  • Deliver approved leave-behind product educational materials as needed to help inform relevant office personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with reimbursement regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with billing and coding staff, and develop a deep understanding of their business including patient demographics, payer landscape, networks/affiliations, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant field reimbursement experience in the pharmaceutical industry required.
  • 3 + years or relevant experience in "Buy and Bill" reimbursement environment required.
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of payer billing practices in the US health care system, including Medicare, Commercial, Medicaid and other payer archetypes.
  • Firm understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations related to patient privacy.
  • Strong knowledge of market access, patient access, and support services, with an emphasis on payer reimbursement.
  • Technical knowledge of health care reimbursement from a patient and provider perspective (authorizations, miscellaneous J codes, billing, coding, prior authorizations, appeals, patient and provider support programs and HUB operations).
  • Travel > 50% or as required to assist in the overall reimbursement process.
