In partnership with the Executive Vice President - Chief Financial Officer, the VP Investor Relations will play an important strategic and financial role in supporting the company's engagement with key external stakeholders and work collaboratively across the company to ensure the function is shaping how our story is told. This leader will serve as a lead spokesperson for the organization in articulating the company's vision, financial performance, and long-term growth strategy to investors, analysts, and key stakeholders.
In this role, the Vice President - Investor Relations will develop market intelligence, work collaboratively with the company's finance and strategy groups and help craft compelling external communications for the investment community. This role has deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, financial markets, and a proven track record in investor communications.

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
At least 10 years experience, 15 years preferred.
Travel Requirements: 20% US travel.

Qualifications

Experience & Knowledge:
  • Deep investor relations experience leading the function or acting as the #2 investor relations executive in a publicly traded company and/or:
  • Seasoned Wall Street healthcare analyst
  • Hospital services or healthcare experience is required.

Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the news media and investment community.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with the press skillfully and tactfully, investors, shareholder community as well as all levels of management.
  • Ability to interpret various financial information to prepare external communications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education & Training:

  • Requires broad training in fields such as finance, accountancy, communications, and/or journalism generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program.

Essential Job Duties

  • Participate in quarterly financial results announcements, including preparation of quarterly financial press releases, conference call scripts, and key messaging materials
  • Serve as key resource and important Investor Relations contact for engaging with investors and analysts, ensuring accurate, consistent and timely responses to external inquiries.
  • Responsible for monitoring sell-side analyst models.
  • Works closely with the company's finance leaders to analyze and understand business expectations to support the EVP - CFO in establishing and maintaining company's public financial guidance.
  • Responsible for monitoring market trends and competitor activities to provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding investor sentiment and market positioning.
  • Works closely with senior management for the purpose of providing market intelligence, assisting in the preparation of talking points.
  • Works in conjunction with Company subsidiaries and the internal and outside legal counsel, finance, audit firms and other departments to verify that all information that should be made public is communicated via the appropriate distribution. Ensures compliance with SEC regulations, managing disclosure and compliance risks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required.
