Outreach Services Educator

Job Description

Develops numerous strategies for education and counseling for the community. Facilitates these settings, focusing on health, wellness and injury prevention.

Job Responsibility

• Coordinates and implements programs that will result in close community identification for the system and the hospitals.
• Plans and implements programs including, but not limited to: fairs, seminars, training programs, conferences, workshops and public forums.
• Identifies and formulates areas for program development; addresses community, civic, business and service organizations; represents the hospital in community activities.
• Plans, develops and designs program brochures, newsletters and displays; prepares lectures, flyers, etc. necessary for outreach and education.
• Maintains policy and procedures that meet the needs of the system and the department.
• Initiates development of public relations tools to heighten community awareness of the hospitals.
• Coordinates and implements the community wellness and injury prevention program.
• Identifies funding sources, initiates and participates in grant writing and fund raising opportunities.
• Coordinates with staff from linking agencies, bringing issues to and from education program; keeps staff apprised of relevant information.
• Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.

Job Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
