Technology Assessment Engineer

Wilton Woods Center

Description

Performs the computer engineering activities required to evaluate and assess technology; provides technical leadership on assigned projects and initiatives; researches and reports on the designs of networks, computer systems, software, and online platform services; assesses the data privacy implications of those designs; collaborates on integration testing and implementation plans; recommends changes in policies, processes, and procedures; serves as a liaison, consultant, and advisor throughout the division to provide best practice engineering solutions; participates in requests for proposal (RFP) processes; works with technology vendors and outside consultants.

Qualifications

Required

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in computer engineering or a related field, two (2) years of which includes the assessment of hardware, software, and cloud-based platforms.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Knowledge of theory and practice of network systems, computer systems, software, and cloud-based platforms
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy local, county, and state regulations, laws, and policies.
  • Strong attention to detail and skilled in critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Ability to develop evaluation criteria and methodologies for assessing information technology products.
  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on a range of modern systems and technologies.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the work of other technical specialists.
  • Ability to compose reports, guidelines, specifications, and contractual documents.
  • Ability to lead formal beta testing efforts for hardware, software, and other modern technologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people with a wide range of technical backgrounds.
Preferred
  • Master's degree.

$88,019 - $149,779
