The Mechanic Journeyman will perform a variety of general Plumbingand preventative maintenance on hospital facilities and equipment as well as some related new construction and renovation work.

Diagnoses, repairs, and installs using blueprints, codes, specifications, and other industry standards. Ensures that time and material records of self and others within assigned team are complete, accurate, and submitted to the supervisor/coordinator at the end of each shift. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and failures, determines necessary repairs to equipment, and initiates work orders. Corrects leaks, sewage stoppages, and equipment malfunction. Cuts, bends, threads pipes; fits threaded pipes with adjoining pipe assemblies.
Diagnoses, repairs, and installs using blueprints, codes, specifications, and other industry standards. Installs and repairs medical gas lines in patient rooms and operating rooms.
Corrects leaks, sewage stoppages, and equipment malfunction. Cuts, bends, threads pipes; fits threaded pipes with adjoining pipe assemblies. Diagnoses, repairs, and installs using blueprints, codes, specifications, and other industry standards. Installs and repairs medical gas lines in patient rooms and operating rooms. Installs, renovates, and reconfigures systems to facilitate hospital renovation and equipment replacement projects. Maintains appropriate inventory of replacement parts and supplies. Maintains, repairs, and installs plumbing systems components and piping including faucets, valves, converters, traps, backflow preventers, etc. Performs asbestos removal. Repairs and overhauls pumps and heat exchangers; removes and replaces coils; replaces valves and associated equipment on steam systems or boilers. Installs, renovates, and reconfigures system to facilitate hospital renovation and equipment replacement projects. Maintains appropriate inventory of replacement parts and supplies. Maintains, repairs, and installs plumbing systems components and piping including faucets, valves, converters, traps, backflow preventers, etc. Performs asbestos removal. Repairs and overhauls pumps and heat exchangers; removes and replaces coils; replaces valves and associated equipment on steam systems or boilers.
Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
This position has a hiring range of $28.2 - $47.3
