PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $138,300.00-$169,000.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $107,400.00 - $199,900.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As the Sr Product Owner, Mobile App, you are responsible for the quarterly roadmap and sprint by sprint backlog of BECU's Mobile App. This role is embedded within the delivery team, focusing on the day-to-day development of app features and stability. Key responsibilities include backlog management, Agile team collaboration, iteration delivery, and stakeholder feedback, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with internal and member needs.

The Sr Product Owner will work closely with key stakeholders to enhance member experience, capability alignment, and usability. This role works closely with the Product Manager to understand and implement the product roadmap, ensuring the backlog is transparent, visible, and understood by both the team and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is technically proficient and capable of prioritizing technical considerations in fully integrated systems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Shape the Strategy: Define and communicate a compelling product vision, MVP, and strategic enhancements that improve the Mobile App experience for members and internal users.
  • Drive Agile Delivery: Collaborate day-to-day with delivery teams, develop user stories, document acceptance criteria, approve work, and iterate quickly in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Champion the Member Experience: Use feedback and market trends to guide product improvements that elevate usability, functionality, and satisfaction.
  • Prioritize What Matters: Own the product backlog, continuously refining and reordering priorities to ensure alignment with both technical dependencies and business goals.
  • Empower the Team: Partner with engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into tangible features, ensuring transparency and momentum.
  • Lead by Insight: Monitor key service levels, track financials, and make data-informed decisions that maximize impact while staying within budget.
  • Be the Voice of the Product: Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, external vendors, and partner teams-ensuring clear communication and shared success.
  • Fuel Development: Coach junior product team members, foster collaboration, and help elevate the skills and confidence of everyone involved in the delivery journey.
  • Adapt and Evolve: Stay ahead of mobile trends, bring new ideas to the table, and be ready to pivot priorities when opportunities or challenges arise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technology, business, or closely related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of related functional experience in product management or as a product owner working directly with technical delivery teams, including significant experience with agile and scrum required.
  • Minimum 3 years working on applications at enterprise scale.
  • Leadership and negotiation skills required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of developing user stories and domain experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining vendor relationships required.
  • Product Owner certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to self-direct and identify business and customer needs and opportunities, overcome barriers, and formulate solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Writing and editing skills combined with presentation and public speaking skills.
