WHO WE ARE: The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. We partner with volunteers to accomplish our work. Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning. The Vice President of Individual Giving, in partnership with the SVP, Development, leads a high-performing national team dedicated to securing transformational philanthropic support for the Society. This pivotal role is key to driving major, principal, individual, and planned gifts, as well as leading direct marketing campaigns, all aimed at advancing the Society's Strategic Plan.The VP will develop and execute a comprehensive national strategy for individual giving to maximize donor engagement, retention, and revenue growth. The position will focus on securing six- and seven-figure gifts, managing a personal portfolio of high-net-worth donors, and guiding them through all stages of the donor lifecycle, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. In addition to managing major gift portfolios, the VP will foster cross-departmental collaboration, working closely with senior leadership, regional teams, mission teams, marketing, technology, and finance to strengthen donor outreach and communication strategies. The VP will ensure the integration of innovative fundraising methods, including planned giving and direct marketing, to expand the donor pipeline and optimize results. As a key member of the development team, the VP will also provide strategic guidance to senior leadership, including the Chief Development Officer and SVP, Development, advising on donor engagement strategies and facilitating their involvement in high-level donor relations. With a focus on high-impact stewardship, the VP will collaborate with donor relations to implement process-driven stewardship strategies that deepen donor loyalty and drive long-term philanthropic success for the Society. Compensation & Benefits: The estimated hiring compensation range for this role is $165,000-$200,000. Final offers will be based on the candidate'sgeographic location, consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.
