Summary

The Regional Sales Director is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market presence within an assigned region. This role involves leading a sales team, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and fostering strong relationships with customers to achieve corporate sales objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities




  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and enhance market share.





  • Identify new business opportunities and market segments for growth.





  • Conduct market research to analyze trends, competitive dynamics, and opportunities.





  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers and prospects.





  • Conduct regular meetings and presentations to understand customer needs and promote DSV's solutions.





  • Manage key customer accounts and negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve favorable outcomes.





  • Monitor sales performance against targets and prepare regular reports for senior management.





  • Forecast sales volumes, revenue, and profitability for the region.





  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on market intelligence.





  • Work closely with operations, marketing, finance, and other internal teams to support sales initiatives.





  • Coordinate with global and regional teams to leverage resources and maximize sales effectiveness.





  • Implement best practices to enhance sales processes and team efficiency.





  • Utilize CRM systems and sales analytics tools to optimize sales operations.





  • Travel as required.





Supervisory Responsibilities




  • Directly supervises a team of regional sales managers, sales managers and/or sales representatives.





  • Set clear objectives and performance targets for the team.





  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the sales team.





Educational background / Work experience




  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.





  • 7 years of experience in sales roles, with at least 3-5 years in leadership or management positions.





  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing key accounts, preferably in transportation and logistics.





Preferred Qualifications:




  • Certifications or training in sales management or leadership.





  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry trends and best practices





Skills & Competencies




  • Lead Yourself: Demonstrate strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.





  • Lead Your Team: Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.





  • Lead Your Business: Proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.





  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.





Language skills




  • Fluency in English is required.





Computer Literacy




  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).





  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools





Physical and/or Mental Requirements / Working Conditions

Physical Demands

Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort. May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities. Hours can be extensive as well as occasionally staggered for multi-shift access. While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Minimal travel maybe required for this role domestically and internationally.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described above are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. For this position, the expected base pay is:$118,500 - $177,500/ Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
