PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Paint & Coatings Superintendent at Worley, you will play a critical role in delivering sustainable change on-site by overseeing all field activities related to surface preparation, protective coatings, and corrosion protection. This role supports Worley's mission of bridging the gap between traditional energy systems and sustainable practices by leading work that ensures asset integrity and longevity in demanding environments. You will be instrumental in translating project plans into field execution that aligns with our ambition to be globally recognized as a leader in sustainability solutions.

Position with last 1-2 months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Lead and coordinate all site-based paint and coatings activities, ensuring alignment with Worley's quality, sustainability, and safety standards.
  • Oversee surface preparation and coatings application, ensuring work meets specifications and adheres to NACE standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely execution and integration with broader project timelines.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with environmental regulations, site safety procedures, and Worley's sustainability commitments.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to site crews and subcontractors, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate contractor performance to ensure deliverables meet technical and environmental standards.
  • Support the implementation of innovative, sustainability-focused solutions that improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Prepare detailed field documentation and contribute to progress reporting and forecasting for leadership visibility.
  • Champion Worley's purpose, promise, and ambition in daily operations, promoting a mindset of integrity, innovation, and resilience.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET



  • Relevant trade qualification or university degree in engineering, coatings technology, or a related field.
  • Recognized certification or training in corrosion control or protective coatings, such as NACE Level 2 or higher.
  • Proven experience in managing paint and coatings activities on industrial construction projects, preferably in the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.
  • Strong understanding of coating systems, surface preparation methods, and inspection procedures within regulatory and technical standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary field teams in dynamic, high-performance environments.
  • Effective communication skills with the capacity to engage stakeholders at all levels and drive team alignment.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges and respond with practical, sustainable approaches.
  • A clear commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement in all areas of field operations.
  • Familiarity with integrated project delivery methods and lifecycle asset management is considered an asset.
