POSITION SUMMARY

The Team Leader is responsible for the safe execution of the Atlanta utilities, facilities and production maintenance schedule in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and other applicable regulatory requirements. Team Leaders actively promotes colleague engagement and development utilizing both site and corporate resources.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • (Near-term) Responsibilities in a Startup Environment: In a startup environment, the Maintenance Team Lead will adapt quickly to changes, lead in developing and optimizing new processes, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, managing inventory and resources efficiently, and troubleshooting unexpected challenges. You will also contribute to scaling Lab processes and Method Transfers, participate in diverse tasks to support the dynamic needs of the startup, and ensure the sustainability and scalability of all procedures as the company grows. Specific activities would include FAT, SAT, CQV, media and engineering
  • Manage and own maintenance shop floor performance, including leadership and/or participation in daily Gemba walks.
  • Ensure effective utilization of Zoetis supervision process for all direct reports, including annual objectives, individual development plans, one-on-one meetings, mid-year reviews, and year-end reviews. Continuously improve the capabilities of the team
  • Perform investigations, including initial event summary to site leadership.
  • Ensure direct reports are compliant with all training requirements.
  • Perform Human Performance Evaluation as applicable.
  • Effective and timely management of employee relations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate and/or lead special projects as directed by Engineering lead to comply with Production Maintenance. Projects may include improvements to manufacturing facilities and equipment. Responsibility for timely analysis and implementation of lifecycle solutions is vital.
  • Respond to process and/or equipment events by ensuring communication with reliability specialist, quality specialist, EHS specialist.
  • Ensure timely and fully documented completion of all maintenance p.m.'s and corrective work orders.
  • Respond to equipment Alarms and ensure timely resolution to issues raised. Communication with manufacturing and quality at all levels is vital.
  • Assist technicians with problem solving to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Compliance and execution of standards and instructions of company rulings, manufacturing specifications and SOPs.
  • Assist with writing and reviewing SOPs, LOTO procedures, and other documentation as they relate to production equipment.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The Team Leader, Maintenance will report to the Engineering Maintenance and Utilities Lead and will work very closely with each discipline within the Engineering, Maintenance, Utilities organization.

RESOURCES MANAGED

Financial Accountability.

  • Labor and overtime hours are managed to remain within budget.
  • Parts and equipment purchases must remain within the scope of budget.

Supervision

  • Responsible for supervising budgeted headcount requirements that may include temporary contract workers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in a skilled trade and 3-5 years minimum maintenance experience working as a supervisor.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and team/group interactive and leading skills. Strong commitment to product quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues, troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, and investigate process failures.
  • Thorough knowledge of CMMS systems and have the ability to work closely with planner/scheduler to ensure preventative maintenance and work orders are completed on time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Zoetis Values and leadership competencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, develop and motivate teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with all process team colleagues including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results.

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit, walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently.
  • Must be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of 5 to 25 lbs
  • Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting
  • Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures
