Job Title: Loan Review Specialist

Overview:

As a Loan Review Specialist, you protect the Bank's loan assets from loss and ensure compliance with applicable procedures, laws, and regulations. You review underwriting adequacy, financial trend analysis, and risk rating accuracy within the Bank's loan portfolio.

Day in the Life - Every day you will examine, analyze, and rate credits on loan relationships within an established limit in order to determine loan quality in accordance with Bank policy and regulatory guidelines. You validate risk grades assigned by loan officers or committees on commercial and installment loan relationships in order to provide an objective, accurate evaluation of the loan. You identify and track financial statement and collateral documentation exceptions, and follow up as needed for corrective action. From time to time, you will act as a backup for appraisal review to ensure that assigned appraisal values are reasonable and align with regulatory and Loan Policy requirements. Communication is key, as you work with internal customers, such as loan officers, to ensure all pertinent information is covered/collected.

What it Takes:

  • Knowledge in and experience with: loan review matters such as determining credit worthiness, loan documentation deficiencies, government regulations, Bank Policy and required documentation covering a variety of loan types; financial statement analysis; Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel; reading and understanding industry literature, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to: communicate effectively both written and verbally across a diverse spectrum; use logical thinking to solve a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; use mathematical knowledge to work with systems of real numbers, statistics and statistical inference, and mathematical probability and application; prepare comprehensive presentations; brainstorm with other colleagues, and present and report findings in written form or in oral presentations.

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business, or equivalent educational experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping, credit administration or similar role
  • Experience in nCino, Decision Pro, Navigator, and Director
