Job Summary The Senior Manager, Commercial Training will serve as a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing training and development programs that elevate performance across all commercial functions within the Biopharma division. This role is critical in driving field readiness, launch effectiveness, and long-term talent development through innovative, role-specific training strategies that align with business objectives.

This individual must possess a deep understanding of commercial strategy, field operations, and cross-functional collaboration to lead the creation of scalable, high-impact learning solutions. The Sr. Manager will play a central role in developing competency frameworks, professional development pathways, and advanced instructional strategies rooted in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE.

In partnership with Biopharma leadership, global counterparts, and key customers, this role will also lead strategic, business-critical initiatives aimed at enhancing launch readiness and strengthening workforce capabilities. The individual will proactively identify and implement innovative learning solutions to drive performance optimization in a dynamic and evolving biosimilars market.

  • Leads strategic partnerships with sales, marketing, and commercial leadership to develop career pathing frameworks and role-based capability programs that reinforce the organization's position as a field excellence leader.
  • Drives a culture of continuous learning by providing leadership and mentorship to field teams, fostering critical thinking, proactive engagement, and the consistent sharing of best practices across the commercial organization.
  • Conducts comprehensive needs assessments and business analysis to identify skill and performance gaps, aligning learning strategies with evolving commercial objectives and growth opportunities.
  • Designs and implements scalable training solutions for new hire onboarding, product launches, advanced selling skills, and account management excellence.
  • Identify and leads the development of upskilling opportunities in key capabilities such as strategic account management, market access acumen, customer engagement
  • Plays a critical role in national and regional meetings, overseeing curriculum design and facilitation to ensure high-impact, relevant learning experiences.
  • Leads evolution of selling models and frameworks, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, market dynamics, and competitive differentiation.
  • Implements data-driven evaluation methods using KPIs, feedback tools, coaching analytics, and digital engagement metrics to assess the impact and ROI of training programs.
  • Design and deliver training programs that support field sales, market access, marketing, and other commercial teams, including onboarding, upskilling, and leadership development.
  • Develop and manage learning management systems (LMS) to streamline access to content, track progress, and measure learning outcomes for commercial field teams.
  • Consult with Biopharma leadership, global counterparts, and key customers to lead business-critical initiatives focused on launch readiness and workforce capabilities.
  • Identify and implement new learning solutions to support ongoing upskilling and performance optimization in an evolving biosimilars market.
  • Successfully manage third-party vendor relationships and associated budgets to ensure timely, high-quality training deliverables.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations and Analytics to integrate training initiatives with digital engagement strategies, field insights, and commercial excellence goals.
  • Support and enhance talent development initiatives including rotational programs, mentorship, and field coaching models.
  • Completes all training requirements, including all department-specific, compliance training, etc.
  • Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical industry, including 2 years in a commercial training or learning and development role, and 2 years in a pharmaceutical sales position.
  • Biosimilar experience preferred.
  • Successful communication with business leaders at all levels to design and develop innovative learning methodologies.
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives.
  • Solid presentation skills accompanied with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Intermediate to advance skillset with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other database/ERP and CRM concepts (i.e., SAP, Salesforce.com).
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment and show an ability and willingness to multitask and be hands-on.
  • Understands field perspectives, customer perspectives, and can verbalize those in a way that internal leaders can understand and take into account for strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
  • Highest level of integrity and good judgment, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Additional job responsibilities as it presents to help meet the needs of the overall business.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business/customer needs
  • Ability to travel for meeting engagements e.g. National Sales Meetings, Regional POA Meetings, various training initiatives, etc.
  • Ability to travel domestically to attend meetings/trainings/programs/customer visits (approximately 15-20%) and is based on business need (via public transportation: air/auto); may require overnight travel.
