The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology leadership and support to the Georgia Institute of Technology, working in partnership with academic and business units to meet the unique needs of a leading research university. OIT serves as the primary source of enterprise-wide information technology and telecommunications services in support of students, faculty, staff, and researchers. Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) serves the Institute and its more than 14,000 employees through strategic counsel, employee engagement, and essential human capital management operations. As the people's unit, GTHR is engaged throughout the employee's lifetime at Georgia Tech. Our team works with sensitive employee information and assists in the management of complex employee issues. Job Summary
The Human Resource Consultant provides expert guidance and support to organizations on various Human Resource matters, including talent management, compliance, and organizational development. This position emphasizes the assessment of current Human Resource practices, the identification of areas for improvement, and the delivery of customized solutions to meet the institution's unique needs. Responsibilities
Job Duty: 1 Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues by facilitating conflict resolution and addressing concerns to promote a positive workplace environment. Job Duty: 2 Analyze workforce data and metrics to inform decision-making and recommend strategies for improving employee engagement and retention. Job Duty: 3 Coach managers on effective performance management practices, ensuring they have the tools to conduct evaluations and provide constructive feedback Job Duty: 4 Lead change management efforts by developing communication plans and supporting teams through transitions to ensure smooth implementation of new initiatives Job Duty: 5 Design and implement training programs that enhance employee skills and support professional development aligned with organizational objectives Job Duty: 6 Assess and improve talent acquisition strategies by collaborating with hiring managers to attract and select top talent for various positions within the institution. Job Duty: 7 Monitor and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations by conducting regular audits and providing staff with training on relevant policies. Job Duty: 8 Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership that summarize Human Resource initiatives, metrics, and recommendations for continuous improvement in human resource practices. Job Duty: 9 Collaborate with department leaders to identify human resource needs and develop strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals. Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience Four to six years of job-related experience Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree Additional Preferred Qualifications PHR or SPHR certification Prior or current experience in the following HR functions:
Proposed Salary
Pay Range: $63,303-$80,000/yr. (commensurate with experience) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS This job requires professional-level generalist knowledge of human resources administrative practices, including those related to recruitment and staffing, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, training, and workforce planning.
