Job Summary

This position manages the relationships with local 3PL and multiple inbound and outbound Transportation providers (domestic and international), inter-facility transport, air freight and small parcel.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining positive work relationship with local carriers.
  • Work with internal customers to provide daily updates on shipments and deliveries.
  • Works with 3PL to manage LTL carriers drop trailers, ensure carriers are arriving on time and trailers are readily available.
  • Create transportation shipment routings for Collect shipments utilizing customer portals.
  • Work with CSR's to avoid and resolve problems and issues related to transportation,
  • Interface with Customer Care to facilitate RGA process.
  • Uses data to extrapolate solutions or identify root cause issues, recommending changes in process or policy.
  • Prepare data analysis, reports and other presentation materials as required by department leadership.
  • Ensure the integrity of 3PL and freight payment for Transportation movements.
  • Review, code, and approve freight invoices submitted by 3PL.
  • Provide expedited, air freight and volume rate quotes as needed.
  • Gather paperwork for Canadian transfers and provide all information to Customs brokers.
  • Manually delete shipments out of the system unless reporting is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience Profile

  • Minimum B.S. Degree in Logistics or other business field
  • 2+ years of experience managing Transportation operations including managing Ocean, Air, Truckload, Less than Truckload and Small Parcel carriers.
  • Certification in DOT/ICAO/IMO dangerous goods shipping regulations is helpful.
  • CPIM, CSCP, Certifications, Green Belt Certificate, or other Transportation/Supply Chain related certification is helpful.

Required Skills

  • Systems experience - SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • TMS and other traffic software experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems, a plus.
  • Top notch customer-centric communicator focused on training, motivating, and accountability.
  • Good business sense, self-motivated, quick learner, capable of multi-tasking in a high-pressure fast changing environment.
  • Works well independently.
  • Expert ability to analyze, manipulate, and present data to support the decision-making process.
  • Ability to represent department and communicate initiatives to carriers, suppliers, or management stakeholders.
  • Skillful use of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills.
