Job Objective:
The Pipeline Controller II is responsible for safely and efficiently monitoring, controlling, and coordinating the transportation of crude oil and natural gas through Harvest Midstream's pipeline systems using SCADA and related control technologies. This role ensures that all pipeline operations are conducted in strict compliance with regulatory standards, environmental policies, and company safety procedures. The Pipeline Controller II serves as an experienced operator capable of managing complex systems, responding to abnormal conditions, and providing support during emergencies.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control the flow of oil and gas through pipeline systems using SCADA and remote terminal units (RTUs).
- Execute operational protocols for the start-up, shutdown, and adjustment of pipeline systems.
- Analyze system data and alarms to identify trends, detect anomalies, and respond to abnormal or emergency conditions.
- Communicate and coordinate with field personnel, third-party shippers, and other control centers to ensure safe product delivery.
- Perform routine checks and validations of pipeline pressures, volumes, and flow rates to ensure operational integrity.
- Document all control room activities in compliance with Control Room Management (CRM) requirements and company policy.
- Support the development and assist with training of new controllers.
- Assist in incident investigation and root cause analysis related to control room activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations and company safety standards.

- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
Other Job Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Four (4) to seven (7) years of oil and gas pipeline control experience, or closely related experience.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which includes seven (7) nights at 12-hours once a month and seven (7) days at 12-hours once a month.
- Ability to accurately solve problems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Ability to accurately perform tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate SCADA or other engineering control loops.
- Good administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Ability to make independent, rational decisions, as required.
- Ability to maintain the integrity of the pipeline systems.
- Ability to work alone and highly motivated.
Education Requirements:
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
