Overview

SCOPE:
Under minimum supervision, demonstrates knowledge necessary to evaluate and recommend Practice Management Systems (PMS) configuration changes that ensure the PMS applications remain aligned with evolving practice needs: reporting, dictionaries, tables, system parameters and options, implemented features/functions or those planned for future implementation. Enters cases that report problems, questions, and requests to PMS using available reporting tools. Responsible for successful pilots of Dictaphone digital transcription systems and MedAptus electronic charge-capture. Works closely with vendors, creating and executing plans, providing training and support to end users and evaluating resulting productivity. Reviews cases daily for additional information, testing resolution and communication to the clinic sites as necessary. Demonstrates understanding of the way data flows through the applications and modules throughout the practice from beginning to end. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintains setups and changes to dictionaries, claim forms, dunning tables and statements. Maintains changes to fee schedule and dictionaries.
-Assists vendor implementation team with hardware and software configuration, installation and testing of workstations, dedicated dictation units and handheld equipment.
-Reconciles claim processes. Reviews processing output and resolves errors. May maintains EDI (Electronic Claim) system. Maintains dictionaries, building and maintaining TES edits. Adds custom dictionaries and fields to existing dictionaries. Reviews work files and reports daily for prompt error resolution.
-May sets up, test, run and deliver custom reports using DBMS or Analyzer reporting tools.
-Builds master schedules. Responsible for building and maintaining appointment types. Responsible for maintaining daily reports and resolving errors.
-Sets up and maintains section forms and print rules. Updates forms yearly with new codes as necessary.
-Reviews work lists and reports daily for appropriate follow up on exceptions. Processes and maintains all documentation including project reports, critical tasks lists, training materials, approved ACE's, invoices, packing slips and receiving documents.
-May maintain dictionaries, monitoring reports and appropriate follow-up of open referrals. Insures periodic audits of PMS system are reflected in a timely fashion to Impromptu.
-Knowledge of setup and maintenance of user access to the web server and applications via Security Plus.
-Maintains clean test environments. Moves approved TUU's (test utility updates) to live after validation of sign off.
-May attend vendor-training classes to become Functional System Administrator, responsible for configuration of users. May collect and monitor user Fluency Meter and Acoustical Adaptations for evaluation of speech recognition module. Conducts training classes and support physicians and staff during implementation and identify super users to provide additional on-going support.
-Provides technical assistance to end-users for all Enterprise applications and hardware failures by responding to Help Desk HEAT tickets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a clinical discipline. Minimum three to five years information systems and/or medical business office experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Physician Practice Systems including database design and architecture. Database management and Crystal Reports experience preferred.

Must be able to view computer screen and printed material accurately. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
