AVP, Data Science Compensation: $200,000 to $222,000 DOE 30% bonus Eligible Remote We are seeking a seasoned data science business leader to spearhead data-driven initiatives across GMR in tight collaboration with IT. The successful candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to make analytics a cornerstone of how GMR thinks and operates. The Associate Vice President, Data Science will make insights accessible for strategic decision-making, foster process innovations that drive operational efficiency, and empower cross-functional teams with data that orient GMR towards better outcomes for patients and payors. From GMR's C-Suite to our frontline crews, 911 communications centers to partners processing claims, this role will serve as the primary business leader to collaborate with IT, Product, and operational teams to originate, prioritize, and implement high impact data projects. This role has the potential to radically accelerate GMR's transformation from transportation to healthcare and help change the EMS industry. The successful candidate will be inspired by that mission and undaunted by the years of effort needed to achieve it. Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive data science strategy that aligns with GMR's transformation goals and maintains governance with GMR IT and business leadership.
- Collaborate closely with operations, data partners, Product, and IT to identify how data can generate leaps in process optimization. Help build, lead, and mentor cross-functional teams including data scientists, AI/ML experts, business analysts, data engineers, and process SMEs to facilitate iterative operational improvements that drive business results.
- Support GMR IT as the business representative prioritizing projects and ensuring data engineering efforts are maximally leveraged by operations and delivering measurable ROI.
- Ensure data science efforts translate into meaningful clinical and financial insights that inform strategic decision making and GMR's transformation from transportation to healthcare.
- Represent the business with cloud partners to drive interoperability between GMR's call, care, and claims systems and compliant data sharing with patients, providers, and payers.
- Establish training and mentorship opportunities that match emerging healthcare trends and technologies to close skill gaps in GMR's cross-functional data science team.
- In collaboration with IT and Compliance, guide and monitor operations to ensure business access and operational use of data is compliant to external and internal standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors in data science, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 15+ years of progressive leadership in healthcare data science leadership roles
- Proven track record of driving business outcomes through data-driven decision-making
- Expertise in machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics, with experience in deploying models in production environments
- Expertise in healthcare interoperability, health information exchange, RCM, and EMR integration
- Ability to navigate organizational complexity and project ambiguity to deliver success
- Willingness to travel 50 nights per year
