Vice President of Payroll Sales are executive level leaders of our organization whose responsibility is to deliver a replicable growth strategy that produces margin and builds infrastructure for Heartland's current and future goals. A Vice President of Payroll Sales must set the vision, manage and achieve their Region's productive sales and recruiting goals on a monthly basis. The Vice President of Payroll Sales leads, develops and manages a team of Payroll Division Managers (PDMs) and Sales Professionals who are responsible for the direct sale of Heartland's Payroll and HCM solutions and related products offered in a multi-state geographic region. The Vice President of Payroll Sales leads and manages a team of Sales Professionals and leaders in the sales Payroll channel and works cross functionally with other sales channels such as, Payments, Point of Sale and Financial Institutions. Essential Duties:
- Conducts Weekly Payroll Division Manager level calls to ensure lower level leaders are carrying out the strategic vision and consistently meet key performance sales metrics to ensure accountability and celebrate successes.
- Conducts consistent quarterly total region calls to ensure consistent messaging is filtering to all levels of their organization.
- Supports and effectively communicates Heartland's goals and initiatives that impact his/her region.
- Models and teaches the Heartland mantra of Entrepreneurs Respectfully Service Entrepreneurs and the Heartland Way by listening and gauging the customers needs in order to offer appropriate solutions and products to elevate the customer's business.
- Build, foster and maintain a healthy team culture, modeling the Heartland Way Tenants and swiftly and appropriately coaching by seeking to understand, framing conflict and seeking compromise and resolution in order to consistently maintain those values.
- Maintain an awareness and understanding of current sales trends within the Payroll industry and be a thought leader.
- Responsible for business plan development for PDMs and PTMs within their greater span of control with a focus on development of future leaders within their region.
- Effectively grows productive eligible headcount within the region. Guides PDMs on building business plans for those PTMs and SPAs who are not direct reports to the Vice President.
- Conducts regular coaching calls/meetings with PDMs as needed.
- Responsible for sourcing, recruiting and hiring PDMs within their region and ensures accountability at the PDM level for PTM and SPA growth and development.
- Owner of Associations, V ARS, and other partner relationships and manage internal referral partnerships within the Region.
Other Duties:
- Lead semi-annual Payroll Division Manager training.
- Offers guidance to PDM for his/her region to execute with corporate training and sales resources.
- Ensure their team's adherence to corporate sales policies and rules of engagement.
- This is an outside sales leadership position.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year college degree or a combination of formal training and relevant work experience.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years outside sales experience as well as 3-5 years of outside sales leadership experience.
- A thorough understanding of how to effectively manage the entire sales cycle is imperative by influencing and leading others.
- Proven track record of success in building an effective sales team in business equipment/payment systems environment.
- Basic PC skills and the ability to work with docs and sheets or other similar software, e-mail and the Internet.
- Ability to motivate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously so that sales results remain consistent month over month.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify underlying issues and the ability to course correct and lead through change.
- Entrepreneurial orientation, customer focus and strong work ethic.
- Ability to develop innovative and resourceful approaches to problem solving.
- Strong leadership skills, organization "savvy" and the ability to work independently and prioritize workload while addressing the needs of his/her team.
Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in the business equipment/payment systems environment plus two years of management or related work experience.
