The Manager, Import/Export is responsible for overseeing the importation and exportation of goods by air and ocean, ensuring efficient and effective coordination and delivery of cargo. The Manager, Import/Export is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with customers and vendors/service providers. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee the importation of goods by air and ocean, including carrier selection, booking, and movement of goods through various transportation channels
* Manage and oversee import and export processes, including document preparation, customs clearance and booking
* Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure efficient movement and timely delivery of cargo
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws
* Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and other third-party service providers to ensure the highest level of service and customer satisfaction
* Collaborate with other internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and operations, to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators, such as cargo delivery times, costs, and quality
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of service delivery
* Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, improve service quality, and enhance customer satisfaction

Educational background / Work experience
* A Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
* At least 3 years of experience in operational freight forwarding, both imports and exports, is required, along with a knowledge of Israel trade Lane
* Leadership/supervisory experience is required

Skills & Competencies
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles
* Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Supervisory Responsibilities
* This role involves managing a team of freight forwarders and other support staff

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with leading ocean cargo logistics software and systems
* Familiarity with ocean freight regulations, customs requirements, and import/export controls
* Knowledge of shipping routes and schedules

Language skills
* Fluency in English is required
* Knowledge of additional languages is a plus

Computer Literacy
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience with logistics software and systems, such as CargoWise and SAP, is preferred

For this position, the expected base pay is: $90,000 - $110,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
