About the Job

The Student Access Managers support the Associate Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the Student Access unit of the Disability Resource Center (DRC). These individuals carry a limited caseload because of management and supervision responsibilities.

In their management and supervision of the Student Access team, the managers utilize their knowledge of determining and providing accommodations in higher education in general as well as the unique aspects of this work at the U of MN to provide guidance to staff. These individuals stay abreast of legal issues pertinent to disability access in higher education. They model creative problem solving and resilience in the face of increasing demand for services. The managers determine when to slow processes down and when to speed them up, and they can bring staff along when they engage these processes. They create a positive, productive work environment that facilitates access, teamwork, and student development.
