Our renowned faculty and staff provide students with a wealth of opportunities and resources, including smart classrooms, digital dentistry labs, clinics and a preclinical lab that emphasizes collaboration. Students pursue postbaccalaureate, predoctoral, continuing education and advanced education in general dentistry programs.

Under the direction of the Department Chairperson/Director, serve as Coordinator for all patient functions associated with the clinics. The coordinator is also responsible for reviewing treatment plans and financial records and determines payment status of each patient. The coordinator should also be able to communicate patient status of each patient. The coordinator should also be able to communicate patient status with assigned resident and supervising faculty; direct residents or patients to complete payments; prepare weekly reports on procedures completed in clinic and payment status; manages all information using electronic health record system of the school; review needs for instruments and materials and order items as necessary; ensure that all resources are efficiently used; and report on status of inventory on monthly basis to the Chair/Director. Interface with faculty on course of action bases up on collected data; serve as the receptionist for all patient functions associated with the clinics. Answer telephone, greet patients, schedule appointments, perform billing functions, including verification of insurance, preparation of fee slips receipts, maintain patient records, and perform other clerical functions in support of the department. Requires a thorough knowledge of department and School of Dentistry practices, policies and procedures. May be required to act and make decisions independently. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years related experience or dental assistant training and certificate from an accredited school. Must have radiology certification from the state of Pennsylvania and CPR certification.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Schedule appointments in Axium.
*Perform front desk activities for the clinic, greeting patients and visitors. Check-in patients and announce their arrival. Check patient out of Axium at the end of appointment. Answer and screen telephone calls, taking messages and relaying information in a timely manner. Schedule patient appointments with residents; schedule patients for x-rays as needed.
*Confirm patient appointments and pull patient charts prior to appointment.
*Manage patients' charts, records, payments and files. Prepare charts for new patients, assuring and verifying accuracy of information. Maintain and update all charts for existing patients.*Research misplaced/lost patient records.
*Maintain patient wait list, as needed.
*Handle billing functions for department. Includes preparation of fee slips and receipts; obtain, verify and complete insurance forms for 3rd party carriers assuring accuracy of information and attaching x-rays and /or other pertinent required information. Send notices to patients on balances due as necessary. May set up payment plans for patients.
*Maintain record of residents' progress and activities.
*Prepare and present periodic reports as requested.
*Compile various lists, including a listing of appointments schedule for the day listing doctor's name, patient's name and type of procedure, materials inventory and utilization, and financial reports.
*Work with other departments to ensure accuracy of information as needed.
*Provide dental assistant functions as needed.
*Assist with department policies and procedures as appropriate.
*Resolves issues, impacting the operations and/or outcomes of the clinics.
*Recommend solutions to problems/issues.
*Order supplies using TU Marketplace, etc., as needed.
*Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred
*Experience managing clinical operations in a Dental office setting.
*Knowledge of billing procedures.

This position will be on-site.
