JOB MISSION:

Join the New Balance Development Group Finance team and play a critical role in the continued development and growth of the Boston Landing neighborhood. Working closely with a small team, you'll be at the core of our financial operations, managing accounts payable and receivable, facilitating the month-end processes, and playing a vital part in our financial reporting.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establishing new vendors in the Accounts Payable system and reviewing the IRS required vendor W9 for accuracy and proper classification.
  • Reviewing invoices for proper dates, addresses, approval(s), as well as the correct job cost and/or general ledger coding and accurate description of the vendor service or product. When this is complete, entering the invoice into the Accounts Payable general ledger.
  • Preparing outstanding Accounts Payable for numerous entities each week and completing the printing of payments for vendors. Completing the annual IRS 1099 Reporting for applicable vendors/service providers.
  • Understanding the details of tenant leases and preparing the monthly rent, common area maintenance (CAM) and real estate charges for each tenant for multiple properties and inputting these monthly charges into the Accounts Receivable general ledger and sending the monthly invoice to each tenant.
  • Obtaining all the daily cash transactions from the numerous property bank accounts and recording these to the proper general ledger accounts.
  • Preparing and completing bank reconciliations at the end of each day and month.
  • Preparing and processing applicable general ledger journal entries for all of the above areas - Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash.
  • Working with the management teams at the athletic/sports facilities (i.e., The Track at NB and NB Fitness Club) to ensure the proper accounting for and payment of all vendor invoices, proper recording and reconciliation of daily cash deposits.
  • Assisting the Finance and Facilities Operation teams with the annual budget process and the Finance team with each monthly fiscal close for numerous entities.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance is desirable.
  • 2-5 years of experience processing and accounting Cash, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables and General Ledger activities is highly desirable.
  • The candidate must be collaborative, team-oriented with the ability to work well with others in that type of cultural environment, as well as to accept working on any special projects which may be required.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of general ledger debits and credits to properly account for each cash receipt, cash disbursement, as well as wire transfers in and out of bank accounts.
  • The ideal candidate will have worked on a Finance or Accounting team and will be looking for a new opportunity to join an energetic and professional team and increase their knowledge of daily operational transactions, budgeting and monthly financial closings.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication.

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
