Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-5p), 40hrs/week

Job Description Summary:

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates educational programming and services required to provide support for clinical nursing and ancillary staff during the orientation to, implementation of, and maintenance of the electronic medical record (Epic), including electronic documentation and order entry. Develops multi-faceted educational approaches to meet varied learning needs and styles. Job Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Provides Epic onboarding education to licensed and unlicensed roles including nursing, ancillary and supportive clinical roles. Develops educational curriculum for Epic classes and evaluates the effectiveness on an ongoing basis. Maintains awareness of policy or practice changes to determine the impact to the teaching curriculum.
  • Maintains a strong clinical and technical knowledge of the latest Epic functionality and clinical workflows. Develops proficiency testing for Epic implementations when applicable.
  • Participates in hospital projects that include new Epic implementations or new technology initiatives to determine the best method for education and evaluate ongoing needs.
  • Supports ongoing education for Super Users by coordinating meetings and disseminating new information regarding upgrades and changes in a timely manner.

Education Requirement:

BSN required, Master's preferred.


Licensure Requirement:

Registered Nurse with current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Ohio required.


Certifications:

Epic certification is required at managers discretion.


Skills:
  • Competency in nursing clinical practice.
  • Proficiency in information management skills required.
  • Word, excel, and power point presentation skills required.
  • Previous EMR software experience preferred.
  • Dedicated focus to customer service is critical to the success of this position.

Experience:
  • 5 years of experience as an RN, required.
  • Pediatric experience, preferred.
