The FMS Technical Publication SME will provide expert-level technical support for emerging FMS customer requirements as part of our PMA-290 FMS team. In this role, you will have daily interaction with the program office in performing critical, FMS-related tasking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze documentation for FMS customer's requests for information regarding airframes, avionics and software changes.
  • Provide inputs to PMA-290 for official responses to FMS customer correspondence.
  • Provide additional administrative support for Program Management Reviews (PMRs).
  • Review, format, and modify USN technical publications and publication changes for FMS customer release to the designated FMS country.
  • Perform monthly quality assurance checks on all technical documentation prior to shipment to the appropriate country.
  • Maintain a Centralized Technical Publications Library for all deliveries for each FMS country.
  • Partner with Logistics Element Manager (LEM) at NATEC to help streamline the functionality of the TMAPS Program within the NATEC FMS Module.

Requirements

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in technically relevant field is required. In lieu of degree an additional 5 years of related experience may be considered.
  • 10 years of related experience as a Navy P-3C ASuW Improvement Program (AIP) Avionics Technician or In-Flight Technician.
  • Familiarity with P-3C AIP mission systems, armament/ordnance, and avionics; P-8A avionics background is desirable.
  • Position requires experience working with Foreign Military Personnel and supporting Foreign Military Sales Programs.
  • Must have a working knowledge of policy and general procedures for the disclosure of technical data.
  • Clear understanding of FMS Security Requirements outlined in the Security Assistance Management Manual (SAMM), US Naval Technical Documentation Formatting Guidelines, NAVAIR Foreign Military Sales/Cooperative Programs Technical Data/Publication Review, and Sanitization/Editing (SWP-6851-009 and SWP-6600-010) and the Department of the Navy Foreign Disclosure Manual.
  • General understanding of the Foreign Military Sales Process as well as US Naval Technical Publications Library and Aviation Logs and records.
  • Well versed in utilizing Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), NATEC, Naval Logistics Library (NLL), and Automated Technical Order Manual System (ATOMS).
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite to include Reader, Illustrator, and Photoshop and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office 365, to include Publisher, Visio, and Project Management software such as MS Project.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

  • The estimated salary range for this position will be $80,000 - $35,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
