Summary

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a wide range of warehousing functions including packing, shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory movement. This role supports the accurate and efficient flow of materials and finished goods throughout the facility in compliance with company procedures and industry shipping/handling requirements. The Warehouse Associate collaborates with internal departments and external partners to meet customer order requirements and operational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of functions and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, including high-lift trucks, to move, store, and retrieve products.
  2. Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, using forklifts or overhead cranes, ensuring proper handling and documentation of materials.
  3. Build custom and standard crates, boxes, or packaging as needed-measure, cut, and assemble materials to protect products during transit.
  4. Select and apply appropriate packing materials to prevent damage; verify part quantities and labels per order and special handling requirements.
  5. Accurately perform data entry and transactions related to inventory, shipping, and receiving using ERP or warehouse management systems.
  6. Physically and systematically move materials between inventory locations, storage areas, production departments, and work centers as needed.
  7. Assist with inventory cycle counts and contribute to inventory control activities.
  8. Coordinate and process less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments; communicate professionally with freight carriers and drivers as needed.
  9. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  10. Support customer order fulfillment by ensuring timely picking, packing, and staging of materials.
  11. Communicate effectively with internal teams (e.g., production, shipping, receiving) to ensure order accuracy and workflow coordination.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  1. Level of education usually acquired through completion of high school.
  2. 3+ years of related experience
  3. Trouble-shooting Aptitude


Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Ability to accurately scan labor, verify labor, and provide for corrections.
  2. Ability to-when applicable-operate overhead crane, aerial lift, forklift, hand trucks, etc.
  3. Ability to measure (using ruler, tapes) and count accurately.
  4. Ability to identify material sizes, lengths, dimensions, metal type, etc.
  5. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions and perform basic math; including adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions.
  6. Ability to work independently and prioritize work with available supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, handle, touch, feel, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, reach with hands and arm, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
