Hazard Analyst - Indian Head, MD - Secret Clearance Engineering

Hazard Analyst needed for a direct hire opportunity with SOC's client to work in Indian Head, MD.

***US citizenship required; Must be able to obtain a secret clearance!***

Responsibilities:

* Schedule and prepare for hazard analysis meetings

* Facilitate hazard analysis meetings with cross-functional teams of project stakeholders to offer expertise while ensuring productivity, structure, and focus

* Analyze process, equipment, and facility designs and procedures of varying maturity to identify and assess potential hazards and recommend hazard mitigation strategies

* Document findings in hazard worksheets, memoranda, reports, or other types of documentation

* Assist with tracking and implementing hazard mitigation strategies

Qualifications

* Have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering or process safety field

* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience leading hazard analyses of varying types such as Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), What-if Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing or production environment

* Strong knowledge of hazard analysis standards and best practices, including OSHA 1910.119, Process Safety Management; ANSI/AIChE RP 75, Guidelines for Hazard Evaluation Procedures; ANIS/ISA/IEC 61511, Functional Safety: Safety Instrumented Systems for the Process Industry Sector; and MIL-STD-882, Department of Defense Standard Practice System Safety. Knowledge of NAVSEA OP 5, Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore is a plus

* Excellent communication and meeting facilitation skills
