The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. Applies professional UC Academic and Non-Academic HR concepts, organization and/or system-wide policies, and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of academic human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Personnel for the School of Social Science, Humanities and Arts, the incumbent coordinates confidential and time-sensitive academic, staff, and student personnel matters, provides guidance to faculty, supervisors, and managers in developing job descriptions, understanding compensation programs, personnel policies, bargaining agreements and procedures related to academic, staff, and student appointments. Uses professional concepts to apply campus policies and procedures to resolve a variety of administrative and operational issues of moderate to complex scope, where analysis of situations and/or data requires the review of a variety of factors. Assists in maintaining personnel records and compliance with records retention. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
