Job Description Summary: The Portfolio and Project Manager oversees a group of projects or programs associated with a number of businesses and/or functions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, optimizing resource allocation, and monitoring performance. This role also manages individual projects to meet objectives within time, budget, and quality constraints. Additionally, this role serves as the Center of Excellence for portfolio processes and tools, driving continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Portfolio Management:

  • Ensures the portfolio of projects and programs aligns with the organization's strategic objectives and priorities.

  • Determines the optimal allocation of resources (people, budget, time) across the portfolio to maximize value and efficiency.

  • Develops and maintains a portfolio plan, including identifying and selecting projects, prioritizing initiatives, and managing dependencies.

  • Tracks and analyzes the performance of the portfolio and its components, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Provides regular reports and dashboards to stakeholders on portfolio status, performance, and risks.

  • Takes ownership of the organization's portfolio process and tools as the Center of Excellence, driving continued improvement.

  • Facilitates ongoing portfolio reviews at local and group levels.

  • Analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) to produce reports on portfolio and projects.

  • Escalates issues that threaten portfolio and project success.

  • Seeking continual improvement input from the business and project community to develop best practices, ways of working to drive delivery excellence.

  • Training the business and project community of the process and their roles and responsibilities in the process.

  • Developing and maintaining a portfolio roadmap.

  • Prioritizing projects based on strategic alignment and value.

Project Management:

  • Collaborates with project managers to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.

  • Monitors project progress, identifies and mitigates risks, and ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Manages stakeholder expectations and ensures effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Facilitates change management processes to ensure projects adapt to evolving needs and priorities.

  • Ensures projects meet quality standards and deliverables are acceptable.

  • Monitoring project budgets and schedules.

  • Identifying and mitigating project risks.

  • Ensuring projects meet quality standards.

  • Communicating project status to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 - 8 years experience in Information Technology project management.

  • Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of a full life cycle project implementation and support

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills; ability to lead discussions, present ideas to audiences of all sizes, and interact with all levels of the organization

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals

  • Proven ability to understand complex business processes and suggest possible solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and provide effective problem solving

  • Experience leading and managing project team members and deliverables

  • PMP certification and familiarity with Agile methodology

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Large & complex global application implementation experience

  • PgMP certification

  • Experience in wholesale distribution

  • High degree of proficiency with the Google Suite and Smartsheet
