General Summary of Position

Job Summary:

Medstar Health is looking fora Psychotherapistto joinourteamat MedStar Franklin Square Hospital. The ideal candidate will bea licensed social worker or professional counselor with the ability to provide therapeutic interventions, make independent decisions consistent with clinical needs, department and hospital protocols, standards of care,policies,and procedures.

ThePsychotherapistwillprovideclinical skills andexpertisenecessary for the assessment and treatment of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. May seepatientsat various locations across the Baltimoreregion.

Primary Duties:

  • Achieves high clinical productivity and caseload. Maintainshighpercentage oftime inbillable clinical activity. Plans treatmentdetails at intake, givingpatienta treatment timeline. Obtains patient agreement to treatment plan at first session. Makes follow-upattemptsand documents when patientsfail tokeep appointments. Closes discharged cases promptly to open schedule for new patients.

  • Completes initial patient assessments within established guidelines.Providesreferrals asappropriate. Serves as liaison to referral sources, outside agencies, third-party payors, and other interested parties asappropriateand within limits of confidentiality. Develops and implements treatment plans andmonitorstreatment progress. Whereappropriate,participatesas a member oftreatmentteam.

  • Participates in the management of aggressive patients as needed to ensure the safety ofpatient, self, and others. Recognizes early warning signs of escalating behaviors and intervenes asappropriate.Providestherapeutic services includingassessment;crisisintervention;casemanagement;dispositionservices;and individual, group, and family therapies asappropriate.

  • Completes documentation relevant to activities.Complies withand ensures adherence to all documentation standards.Complies withdata collection, entry, and reporting requirements.

  • Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvementteams; representsthe department and hospital in community outreach efforts.Providesclinical educational and/or liaison services to other service areas, departments, and facilities as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in socialwork, psychology.or relatedfield.

  • 2years' experiencein the delivery of clinical services to psychiatric populations.

  • Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical(LCSW-C)or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor(LCPC).

This position has a hiring range of $72,758.40 - $123,260.80
