Human Resources Specialist Senior Job ID: 321603 Location: Rio Salado Community College Full/Part Time: Regular/Temporary: Regular Hiring Salary Range $22.06 - $28.67/hourly, DOE Grade 112 Work Schedule The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year. 7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. Job Summary Coordinates and performs a wide variety of advanced level human resources functions and applications in accordance with established guidelines in Rio Salado College's Employee Services department utilizing independent action and technical knowledge. Routinely deals with highly confidential information and sensitive situations. Works with staff, faculty, administrators, students and the general public. Essential Functions 40% - Coordinates, prepares and monitors documents for various stages of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) reasonable accommodations process and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)/Leaves Administration to include correspondence with employees, establishing both hard and digital files, updates google files and trackers and archive materials; prepares and updates weekly report of college HR actions for supervisor; utilizes employee group policy manuals for routine matters related to job functions. 30% - Communicates with internal and external customers to include administrators, faculty, staff and the public requiring a detailed knowledge of district and college HR policies and procedures such as checking status family medical leaves, evaluating medical documentation; assists with note-taking and documentation for various agreements; reviews materials for completeness. 20% - Serves as liaison between District ADA/Leaves departments and college; maintains confidential records in all areas. Coordinate training sessions with stake holders and developing the training aids. Human Capital Management (HCM), google drives and college files. 10% - Prepares position information to be used internally and externally for the college; Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of work experience in human resources, customer service, general office work, or administrative support and coordination. The required experience can come from any combination of the areas listed. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. OR An equivalent combination of education and/or experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. One (1) or more years' experience working in a functional human resource setting B. Experience working with PeopleSoft HCM C. Experience working with ADA and FMLA D. Experience working in an environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines E. Experience handling confidential information and highly sensitive matters F. Experience utilizing computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite G. Demonstrated effective written communication skills (application materials will be reviewed in this area) Special Working Conditions May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor. Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense.
