Job Summary The position writes, creates, and edits digital content across multiple platforms. This includes reviewing and editing news content, audio and/or video news footage. It also includes fact checking, and ensuring proper organizational style. This position will analyze and verify statistical data, news facts and dates as well compile user analytics and coordinate and prioritize deadlines. Essential Functions 30% - Reviews and edits copy, news content, audio and/or video news footage on all digital platforms 30% - Ensures timely and accurate information is produced across multiple media platforms 10% - Edits written work for proper grammar and communication style 10% - Analyzes and verifies statistical data, news facts and dates 10% - Collaborates with others to gather newsworthy information and provides meaningful and timely coverage 10% - Coordinates deadlines and prioritizes competing demands Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or directly related field and two years of broadcast (radio/television) editing experience. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Two (2) or more years of reporting experience B. Two (2) or more years of experience as digital content creator C. Two (2) or more years of experience as a digital editor D. Experience producing, writing and delivering content across multiple platforms including all popular social media platforms E. A portfolio of recent work via a link; website; or any media format to be submitted by close of business of the application deadline attached with your application Special Working Conditions Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
