Job Description:

Essential Functions

1. Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work.
2. Spreads concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.
3. Levels and shapes concrete, and finishes freshly poured concrete at project or job sites.
4. Utilizes required tools to complete required tasks.
5. Arranges and constructs concrete forms.
6. Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies required for each project.
7. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety policies and procedures.
8. Assists with related carpentry tasks, as required.
9. Ensures quality of work meets company standards.
10. Keeps immediate working area clean. Must use required tools and follow material procedures.
11. Completes all required and assigned training for this role.

Work Environment
The work is completed outside at the construction site. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site (Hardhats, safety glasses, high-visibility safety vest). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and able to talk and hear other employee talking. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Expected Hours of Work
Full time position, occasional extended hours and weekends may apply.

Travel
Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.

Required Education and Experience
1. Minimum two years of experience in concrete construction.
2. Union membership required.

Preferred Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. OSHA 10 hour certification preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Must understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
2. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
3. Have the ability to take measurements and make calculations.
4. Have good communication skills both orally and in writing.
5. Must pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.
6. Ability to problem solve when errors occur.
7. Keep tools and workspace organized.
8. Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
9. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
10. Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.
11. Must have own hand tools, power tools to be provided by Christman.
