The Content Director, Commerce will oversee all content creation for the FOX Commerce team. They will manage a team of editors, writers and production staff to produce content across FOX properties, including FOX News and FOX Weather. It will report to the VP of Commerce.

The role will be responsible for implementing a content strategy that focuses on delivering deals, product recommendations and reviews to our readers and viewers across all platforms (newsletter, social, video & integration with broadcast, etc). This will be driven by a keen understanding of our audience, where they shop and what they buy.

The role will own and have accountability for commerce content creation, production and overall editorial voice, tone, and quality across all categories and platforms.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our commerce partnerships VP and analytics team to make data driven decisions to maximize revenue while creating compelling, creative audience-focused content.

The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing traffic and conversion results as much as they do brainstorming new ways to engage our audience across platforms with creative, informative articles.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a team of editors, writers (both in-house and freelance) and production staff
  • Work closely with Partnerships VP, Content Insights and SEO/Growth teams to analyze traffic and revenue and make both editorial and data-driven decisions based on your knowledge
  • Lead weekly pitch meetings to ideate and assign stories
  • Lead meetings to review metrics and discuss content improvement and updates
  • Help develop editorial coverage, optimize user experience and revenue generation
  • Lead planning and develop playbooks for tentpole shopping events like Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
  • Interface with internal audience, business intelligence and SEO teams
  • Stay on top of emerging platforms, trends and competitors to identify new opportunities for category growth and partnerships
  • Ensure all content is brand-safe and meet internal guidelines

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 8+ years of experience in leading a commerce team at a major publisher
  • Passionate about service journalism and delivering quality shopping content
  • Well-versed in using data and reporting tools to inform editorial ideas
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including application of AP style
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, meticulous and consistent follow up
  • Knowledge of analytics platforms (Ex: Adobe Analytics, Chartbeat, etc.) and data tools such as Excel
  • Experience with WordPress and SEO tools such as Ahrefs
  • Experience working with an SEO team

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $143,000.00-162,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
