Facilities Maintenance Leader

Buffalo, NY * Be part of an exciting journey as we build our new facility in the Western New York Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park in Alabama, NY! This role offers a unique hybrid opportunity, blending remote work flexibility with on-site presence during the facility's construction phase.

Salary Range: $70,000 - 109,000

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

Mission/Purpose of the Job:



  • The Facilities Maintenance Leader is responsible for overseeing the preventative and periodic maintenance required to optimize the facility's and building maintenance, safety, health and environment systems, energy and controls instrumentations.
  • This role will lead and manage maintenance team rapid response to repair any equipment or facility failures that jeopardize safety or impact production.
  • Provide strategic leadership to establish and optimize the facility operations for a new greenfield manufacturing site producing dry vacuum pumps for high-precision applications.


Main Responsibilities



  • Maximizes building and equipment uptime using efficient, corrective, planned and preventative maintenance.
  • Creates and oversees a planned maintenance program.
  • Develops maintenance schedules, procedures and methods for equipment and facilities.
  • Identifies parts or spares required for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  • Reviews completed repairs and recommends appropriate actions to improve mean time between repairs.
  • Leads projects to install or move production equipment installations as required.
  • Maintains legal certificates for electricity and fire-fighting procedures.
  • Monitors equipment operating parameters to ensure the maximum operational performance.
  • Diagnoses and repairs facility equipment failures.
  • Plans and coordinates equipment upgrades for the building and facility.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance; works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

Education level



  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other technical degree.



Relevant Previous experience



  • 10 years' experience in plant maintenance with 5 years' experience managing a facility maintenance team.



Knowledge areas/Skills



  • Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of high voltage electrical systems, HVAC systems, security systems
  • Experieince with contractors and 3rd party service management



Other requirements



  • English communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer system experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use stairways to climb to floors within office building, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
