Full-time Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen our security operations and risk management capabilities. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in cybersecurity who is ready to take on more responsibility in protecting enterprise systems and data. This role is required to be in office (no remote option) in our Cedar Rapids, IA location. Key Responsibilities * Lead and support incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, and remediation. * Perform in-depth vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with system owners. * Manage and optimize security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence platforms. * Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. * Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks, procedures, and reports. * Collaborate with IT and business units to ensure secure system configurations and access controls. * Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of security operations. Requirements
Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field-or equivalent experience. * 2-5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or security operations * Proficiency with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection. * Strong understanding of network protocols, system hardening, and threat mitigation techniques. * Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls). * Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications * Industry certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH, or similar. * Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for security tasks. * Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) and data loss prevention (DLP) solutions. * Experience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) * Experience working in a hybrid or multi-cloud environment.
