Job Summary:
- Safely operate the ready-mix plant to batch materials according to mix design specifications.
- Utilizes computerized batching software to accurately weigh and load aggregates, cement, water, and admixtures in the production of ready-mix concrete. Ensures consistency, quality, and timely delivery of concrete while maintaining safety and operational standards.
Salary Range: $34.00-$38.00 / Hour Hours per week: 40+ Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- Perform daily equipment, walk arounds and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained, conduct toolbox meetings daily/weekly.
- Maintain accurate records of production, deliveries and material usage.
- Communicate with quality control personnel and make required adjustments to mix designs.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of all raw materials. Order materials as needed and ensure proper storage and handling.
- Monitor and troubleshoot batching equipment.
- Safely and properly operate ready mix plant ensuring each load meets quality standards.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
- Conduct routine quality checks on concrete (slump, air content, temperatures, etc.).
- Lead personnel at plant and work with dispatch to schedule drivers.
- Monitor plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, ). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
- Proven experience handling priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to perform basic math problems (weights, volumes, ratios).
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate batching and timely deliveries of ready mix concrete.
- Accurately complete plant reports and other documentation as
- Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation Maintain safe working environment and foster safety culture, ensure good housekeeping skills and lockout/ Tagout procedures. When needed, accompany employee to medical facility when injured and manage work comp claim by working closely with medical provider on treatment plan.
- Performs other duties assigned.

Qualifications
Experience
1 - 5 years: Prior experience in the ready mix or precast industry. (preferred)
