*Description*
Overview: Seeking a highly experienced iSeries Engineer to support the migration and deployment of AS400 systems into new data centers. This role requires deep expertise in physical hardware configuration, data center coordination, and AS400/P-series environments. This position is responsible for planning and project management, complex problem resolution, and advanced production support for the Bank's IBMi/AS400 system infrastructure. Provides expert guidance and mentorship on system technical support, maintenance, and enhancement. Leads the administration of software and hardware that supports customer sales and service applications. Installs, automates, and tests infrastructures for continuous improvement. Monitors overall systems performance to identify potential issues and tune appropriately. Addresses failed components or technical issues and provides resolution. Oversees the work of less experienced associates and serves as a technical resource to wider business unit. iSeries/AS400 hardware deployment/installation/configuration. LPar creation/configuration/replication Responsibilities: -Lead the physical deployment and configuration of AS400 hardware in data centers. -Provide detailed instructions to data center technicians for cabling, setup, and configuration. -Collaborate with network and data center staff to ensure proper installation and connectivity. -Support the migration of existing AS400 systems to new data centers. -Assist with upgrades and deployment of kits across environments. -Work with Mimix replication technology (Precisely) for live and DR LPARs. -Maintain strong documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle. Required Skills & Experience: -10+ years of hands-on experience with iSeries/AS400 systems. -Deep understanding of P-series hardware and LPAR configurations. -Proven experience with physical hardware deployment in data centers. -Ability to provide clear, actionable instructions for cabling and setup. -Familiarity with Mimix replication (Precisely) for AS400 environments. -Strong written and verbal communication skills. -Ability to produce concise, well-structured resumes and documentation. *Skills* ibm as400, ibm iseries, hardware installation, hardware support, hardware configuration, Mimix Replication (Precisely), Communication, Collaboration *Top Skills Details* ibm as400,ibm iseries,hardware installation,hardware support,hardware configuration,Mimix Replication (Precisely) *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Preferred Qualifications: -Experience in the financial services industry. -Located in or near Raleigh/RTP area (not required but preferred for occasional onsite support). -Prior involvement in data center buildouts or migrations. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $105.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
