The Department of Medicine at The University of Wisconsin is recruiting an academic Transplant Nephrologist, Associate or Assistant Professor, on the Clinical Health Services (CHS) track to join our team. In this role, the physician will provide coverage of inpatient and consultative transplant hospital services, participate in clinic and outreach; advance patient care through research collaborations; participate in teaching learners and other scholarly work.

The University of Wisconsin Division of Nephrology | Department of Medicine, University of Wisconsin-Madison includes 18 faculty, over 10 Advanced Practice Providers, and 10 Fellows. The division provides high-value patient care, promotes innovative research and fosters top nephrologists of the future. A trusted name in transplant, our faculty provide pre- and post-transplant care for patients in the UW Health kidney transplant program, one of the most active and successful in the nation. With 64 paired kidney exchanges in 2020, our center has one of the nation's largest living kidney donation programs. Our program's success has also secured philanthropic support. Division faculty and Rheumatology colleagues lead a dedicated lupus nephritis clinic, the first in Wisconsin and fifth in the nation. The multidisciplinary team coordinates care so that patients can receive same-day evaluations, diagnostic tests, infusions, education and care coordination-all in one place. In the Division of Nephrology, the scope of clinical care encompasses all stages of kidney disease-from the earliest detectable changes in kidney function through end-stage renal disease-and the full range of conditions, including chronic kidney disease, kidney stone disease, glomerular disease, autoimmune disorders and inherited disorders such as polycystic kidney disease. Our outpatient dialysis program offers state-of-the-art hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis services. Our commitment to quality care means that U.S. News & World Report ranks the UW Health kidney failure program as a top performer. The Division of Nephrology has an active research program, with strong interest in pursuing clinical, translational and basic research questions in nephrology and transplantation. There are a number of ongoing studies in many aspects of kidney disease, including interventional nephrology, transplantation, and general nephrology. Highlights include 75 publications in 2020 and grants totaling over a million dollars in FY21. Compensation:Negotiable, 12 months.
