Chemical Operator III Job

A Chemical III operator is a floating shift operator who is trained on all processes at the site. Including but not limited to Urethane Technology, Solvent Technology, and Acrylate Technology. The Chemical III operator will be trained in all aspects of process from staging/compounding, charging, mixing, packaging and material handling. Material handling includes the loading and unloading of bulk materials. The Chemical III operator can be assigned to any production building as directed by supervision.

Responsibilties:

  • Must follow all Safety Rules, Regulations, Operating Procedures, Corporate/Plant Policies and Laws always.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds safely.
  • Safely operate an industrial lift truck (sit down and stand up)
  • Compounding and staging of raw materials.
  • Blending of chemicals and powders
  • Charging liquid chemicals and powders to mixers
  • Monitoring mixers during mixing and reaction
  • Use of distributed control systems to control and monitor process.
  • Labeling and filling containers with product
  • Take samples of powder and liquids to ensure product quality, stage empty containers, maintain satisfactory housekeeping standards, prepare equipment for maintenance.
  • Safely handling industrial chemicals using established safe plant procedures and processes
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including chemical suit, respirator, face shield, hard hat, steel toed boots, etc.
  • Accurately completing shop floor paperwork in both written and electronic format
  • Use of computerized MRP system.
  • Work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
  • Work frequent overtime (12-hour shifts)
  • Participate in company safety meetings and training.
  • Assist Shipping/Receiving and Other Production Areas as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be safety conscious, reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Minimum of one year of hands-on manufacturing experience desired; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and have good math skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
