JOB PURPOSE As the Engineering Technician, you will apply engineering principles to conduct the preventative and downtime maintenance for the industrial layout and manufacturing production, under the direction of engineering staff. This will involve principles in electrical, mechanical and boiler operations of the production facility. Install and perform maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment consistent with Seaboard policies and procedures. Other duties include welding and fabrication, pipe fitting, boiler maintenance, insulating, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, repairing building structure. Follow safety rules and regulations as established by Seaboard. Utilizing engineer theory and experience may perform studies in the facility to establish production rates that improve efficiency. Apply principles of mechanical engineering to adjust machinery and equipment under direction of engineering staff. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gasses at low concentrations and cold or humid weather conditions.
