Overview

Hepburn and Sons is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Admin Assistant at the Surface Maintenance Engineering, Planning, Program. SURFMEPP maintains, monitors, and refines Class-wide and Individual-Ship Maintenance Plans for all non-nuclear surface ships to ensure material readiness for the projected service life, develop life-cycle strategies to address system upgrades, and fully implement the Class Maintenance Plan into each surface ship's maintenance schedule and availability planning process.

Responsibilities

    Edit and grammatically review Command Correspondence in accordance standards of SECNAV M-5216.5 (Navy Correspondence Manual), SECNAV M-5210.2 (Standard Subject Identification Code Manual) and OPNAV M-5215.1 (Navy Directives Manual)
  • Command Files Management in accordance with SECNAV M-5210.1 (Records Management Program)
  • Support Command Programs administratively as directed
  • Maintain paper and electronic files, performs duplication, binding, and distribution of documents
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, and works well in a team environment
  • Exhibit ability to take direction and accomplish tasks
  • Exhibit attention to detail


Qualifications

  • Greater than 1 year relevant professional experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • High school degree
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance
  • Potential for limited travel to support off-site meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-4 years relevant professional experience preferred
  • Service as a Yeoman within the Navy Active or Reserve Components a plus

Physical Requirements

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual
