Pet Segment is searching for a hands-on 2nd shift Production Supervisor for our Fort Dodge, IA facility to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role is responsible for planning and directing daily production operations in line with company goals and policies, working closely with both leadership and production employees.

Location:1528 Cardinal Avenue, Fort Dodge, IA 50501
Shift:Monday through Wednesday 4:00pm - 4:00am. Thursday 4:00pm- 8:00pm. Overtime as needed.

Measures of Success
  • Direct daily production activities to meet volume, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Supervise a team of 18+ operators and one lead operator, ensuring the Processing group remains productive and engaged throughout the shift.
  • Serve as a hands-on supervisor, supporting employees and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Use SAPto close production orders and manage workflow.
  • Monitor production through the use of Redzone OEE softwareand Microsoft applications.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor employees to support development, performance, and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, feed safety, OSHA regulations, and company workplace safety standards.
  • Identify and resolve production issues related to raw materials, packaging, labeling, and equipment.

Ideal Candidate Attributes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with OSHA/safety protocols, SAP, Redzone OEE software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain focus, alertness, and safe practices at all times.
  • 4+ years of machine operation experience, OR
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience, including coaching and performance management.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Highly automated production and packaging environment.
  • Climate-controlled facility.
  • There may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns.
  • Noise level in the work environment varies with specific areas requiring hearing protection.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to the following food allergens, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, soy, fish, wheat, and eggs.

POSITION INFORMATION
  • This position pays $27.00 - $29.00 per hour depending on experience. Plus a $2.50 shift differential.
