Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and troubleshoot in vivo studies for a variety of Neuroscience programs
  • Plan and execute complex tissue extraction protocols and analyses, including RNA and protein assays (Western blots, qPCR)
  • Intracerebroventricular (ICV) and intrathecal (IT) dosing, bleeding and CNS tissue dissection and collection
  • Handle many projects simultaneously and prioritize experiments while producing high quality, reliable and reproducible results
  • Data analysis, organization and presentation
  • Maintain up to date, organized and accurate study records including the use of an electronic lab notebook

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in science-related field
  • 4+ research experience preferably in the field of neuroscience
  • Experience developing and executing experimental assays such as qPCR, western blotting, or nuclear fractionation.
  • Experience developing and executing in vivo experiments in rodent models
  • Expertise in small animal surgical techniques such as stereotaxic surgeries, or catheterization
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism)

The salary for this position is expected to range between $85,000 and $158,000 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.

Salary Range

$85,400.00 - $158,600.00
