Job Summary

The Laboratory Coordinator is responsible for overseeing quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and raw material testing (RMT) to ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. This role manages laboratory operations, supervises technicians, and ensures accurate testing and reporting to maintain product integrity and consistency.

Role and Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC):

* Implement and maintain QA/QC programs to ensure compliance with FDA, HACCP, GMP, FSMA, and customer requirements.
* Conduct and oversee routine product testing, including microbiological, chemical, and physical analyses.
* Review and approve test results, ensuring adherence to specifications.
* Investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Laboratory Operations & Raw Material Testing (RMT):
* Oversee raw material testing (RMT) to ensure ingredient compliance with established specifications.
* Manage laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and validation.
* Develop, implement, and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory testing.
* Ensure proper sample collection, retention, and documentation for traceability.
Regulatory Compliance & Audits:
* Maintain QA/QC records and documentation to meet regulatory and customer audit requirements.
* Support internal and external audits, including FDA, USDA, third-party certifications, and customer inspections.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen control, and sanitation protocols.
Leadership & Training:
* Supervise and train laboratory technicians, ensuring accurate and efficient testing procedures.
* Provide guidance on good laboratory practices (GLP), safety protocols, and data integrity.
* Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related issues.
